White-glove onboarding and managed services transition.
Every engagement begins with a structured onboarding process built to reduce transition risk, improve visibility, and establish clean ownership before full managed service go-live. The goal is not just to move infrastructure, but to move it into a more controlled and supportable state.
Six phases to a stable managed state.
Discovery and Scope Alignment
Confirm business objectives, supported applications, infrastructure dependencies, support boundaries, success criteria, and timeline. Establish the service model, stakeholders, and communication plan up front.
Environment Assessment and Documentation
Review current servers, hosting footprint, application dependencies, risks, access methods, backup posture, remote administration, and operational pain points. Capture documentation and identify remediation priorities before cutover.
Governance, Access, and Security Baseline
Define support workflows, escalation paths, ticket handling, access controls, privileged account handling, MFA expectations, backup verification, and baseline hardening requirements. Governance and security are formalized before go-live.
Migration, Deployment, and Tooling Rollout
Prepare the hosted environment, deploy monitoring and management tools, execute migrations or workload cutovers, and validate connectivity, application behavior, notifications, and failover assumptions.
Go-Live and Stabilization
Transition to active support, tune alerts, resolve inherited issues, monitor early performance closely, and document recurring tasks. The first 30 to 90 days function as a stabilization window.
Ongoing Managed Services and Review Rhythm
Move from reactive support to managed improvement through reporting, root-cause review, service adjustments, roadmap recommendations, and periodic business reviews. Onboarding extends into continuous improvement.
- [01]Assigned technical point of contact.
- [02]Clear support and escalation instructions.
- [03]Defined onboarding checklist and milestone tracking.
- [04]Validation and testing before production handoff.
- [05]Quarterly review cadence after stabilization.
Begin a controlled transition.
Start with structured discovery and end with a stable, supportable managed environment — and a named technical owner throughout.
